W:Dad, I don’t know if I can stay in this country any longer!
I’ve been here for three months, and I still can’t speak Spanish well. I thought it’d be really fun to study abroad for a year. But I feel so lonely now because I haven’t made any friends.
M:What about the people you’re staying with?
W:Oh, they’re a nice family. But I don’t understand most of what they say.
M:How are you doing in school, then?
W:Not very well. I have to take an extra language class after school too. I just don’t know what to do.
M:Give it another chance, honey. Let’s talk again in a month. If you’re still unhappy by January, you can come home. But try to do something fun, like joining a soccer team. You’ll probably learn the language faster if you’re having fun.
Text 10
About four hundred years ago in the capital of a great kingdom, there was a man who wanted to fly. The man was the great artist, Leonardo da Vinci. His studies about birds and flight gave him many ideas. So, he decided to make a pair of wings for himself, just like a bird’s wings. After studying all about flying, Leonardo da Vinci thought it was time to show everyone he could fly. One afternoon, he walked up the stairs of a famous tower in the middle of the city. He stood on the edge of a window, opened his wings and stepped off the tower. Instead of falling to the ground, like what many people had expected, Leonardo da Vinci actually flew to the other side of the great river. He landed safely, and everyone who saw it was amazed. Everyone in the city was happy about his flight. The king was so pleased that he even gave Leonardo da Vinci a thousand gold pieces.

Harmony
Harmony is significant to us all, no matter who we are. For us students, we should start from little things around us.
First of all, we students should respect and get along well with our teachers. That way, we can achieve better teaching benefits. And then, we should think much of friendship among us students and treat each other sincerely. In addition, we should try to live harmoniously with our family members by doing some housework we can. Last but not the least, we should cherish wildlife, making wild animals live in peace with us.
In conclusion, if we can live in harmony with other people and nature, our life will become happier and happier.
